Introducing Syntho

Original plugins. New ways to create.

We make instruments, effects, and sound collections with a musical point of view. Behind them, we’re building a shared audio engine andSyntho Studio to help more ideas become tools musicians can use.

It starts with something you want to hear.

A useful tool gives you a reason to reach for it. We build ours around musical ideas, from the way a mix breathes to the character of a single repeat.

Our shared engine lets us develop the sound, controls, and behavior together. The result is a growing collection of tools with different personalities and a common foundation.

A clear musical purpose.

Room for the kick. Movement in a vocal. Space around a guitar. Each tool starts with a musical result, and its features serve that idea.

A starting point with character.

Presets and artist collections give you a sound worth exploring from the first note, with room to take it in your own direction.

Sound and controls, designed together.

The controls that shape the sound stay close. We build the audio and interface together so you can see what is happening and find the changes that matter.

More of the idea to work with.

Our bundles bring a plugin together with supporting presets and sounds. Explore the processing, change the rhythm, or take the source material somewhere else.

Made with artists. Shaped by their sound.

The way an artist records, plays, and processes is part of their sound. Our first collaboration with Jazz Calls Home brings that perspective into a plugin, presets, and sounds you can make your own.

Sparklelizer × Jazz Calls Home

Sparklelizer turns Jazz Calls Home's vocal chain into one plugin: a cross-feeding stereo delay into reverb, saturation and compression. Bounce Room adds dry drums and MIDI loops.

Jazz Calls Home is the experimental pop project of Jazz Alvarado Segovia. Drawing on her background in film scoring and music production, she brings glitch-pop detail, electronic texture, and deeply personal writing into immersive songs.

Have a sound that should become a tool?

Bring us a recording process, effect chain, playing technique or sonic world. We can develop and release it together, share the revenue, and keep your authorship at the center.

Syntho Research Lab

Researching the future of music—and building it into tools.

We study compatible audio systems, generative sound and music, evaluation, symbolic representations, visualization, and new ways for people and agents to make music together.

The Syntho Engine is a central project inside that mission: the compiler, SDK, DSP, UI kit, and qualification layer that helps a research result become a playable tool and reach the web, a DAW, or qualified hardware without rebuilding the entire stack.

Explore the research program

Engine and research partnerships are currently selected.

The Syntho engine connecting audio code, interfaces and release targets

Audio SDK

Typed DSP components, effects, instruments and parameter systems that remain readable as a project grows.

Interface system

A composable interface layer built with modern standards, without the constraints of a traditional plugin widget kit.

Portable runtime

One architecture for native plugins, connected software and hardware products instead of a separate stack for every destination.

Build and release tools

Compilation, host integration, packaging and verification designed around the same source project.

Why this foundation matters

  • Move from idea to working product faster
  • Develop the sound and interface together
  • Combine DSP, models and connected services
  • Work directly or with project-aware coding agents
  • Use TypeScript and modern tooling
  • Release a product family from one source
For partners

Researchers, audio companies, artists, public institutions, and open communities join the same process: contribute a question, expertise, technology, data or funding; then build evidence and a useful outcome together.

In active development

Make the tool you wish you had.

Syntho Studio is the workspace we’re building for artists and sound designers to turn ideas into audio tools. Describe what you want to make, shape its sound and controls, and work with an agent as the idea develops.

It builds on the same engine and components as our own releases, bringing more of the creative process into your hands.

A visual workspace for assembling an audio tool from reusable parts

Start with the idea

Describe the effect, instrument or workflow you wish you had instead of beginning with an empty codebase.

Assemble and shape it

Shape the sound, signal path and controls yourself or ask AI for help, while your musical direction stays in charge.

Hear every change

Play the result immediately as it develops, then carry the same project toward a finished plugin.

Early access currently focuses on guided creation, experimentation and feedback. Product-grade exports are still a supported, collaborative process. Have an idea but do not need Studio yet? Add it to the community wishlist.

Work with us

The next tool can start with you.

Bring a musical practice, research question, distinctive sound, model, dataset, technology, or product problem. We shape the project around what each partner can contribute and what the work should make possible.

Artists and sound designers

Put your sound inside an instrument.

Bring us a recording process, effect chain, playing technique or sound world. We can turn it into a signature plugin, instrument or collection—and release it together.

Research and industry partners

Answer a question the future of music depends on.

Study generative music, evaluation, symbolic representation, interaction or compatibility; apply existing research; or use the Engine to carry a result into a playable tool and a DAW.

Companies, universities, artists, public institutions, standards groups, and open-source teams are all partners in the process. Browse opportunities at Syntho or send a private brief through our collaboration form.
